Meet the Team

 Dr. Bernadette Beavers-Forrest is a distinguished consultant, certified mindfulness facilitator, researcher, assistant professor, instructional designer, and Regional STEM Learning Ecosystem Consultant. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Counseling, a Master’s in Instructional Technology in 2017, and a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama in 2022, specializing in mindfulness.

Throughout her career, Dr. Bernadette has focused her research on mindfulness as a comprehensive strategy for wellness, the intricacies of online teaching and learning, effective integration of technology, and leadership within the technology domain. She has co-authored numerous scholarly articles and presented her work on mindfulness at various educational conferences. In addition, social justice and the digital divide among underrepresented African Americans in STEM careers. 

Her professional experience is vast, having held leadership roles in human resources, where she worked and partnered with diverse individuals from various racial, social, gender, and economic backgrounds across the retail, law, healthcare, and academic sectors. As a Regional STEM Learning Ecosystem Consultant, she leverages her expertise to recommend and execute the strategic goals and objectives for the ASLE and Alabama STEM Council. This role is crucial in enhancing collaboration between regions and the state and strengthening STEM education and opportunities.

Dr. Bernadette is committed to motivating and inspiring individuals to achieve personal wellness and happiness through mindfulness every day. Additionally, she aims to advance STEM education through strategic collaboration and leadership. When she is not working, she enjoys golfing, international travel, reading, and gardening.

Amber Beavers Rankin (MBA)  - Amber's Human Resources and Sales background has helped her realize that being positive builds better relationships. She has excellent communication skills and enjoys seeing others happy and will always be available for questions.

Amber also develops instructional technology content, web-designer, and has a strong passion for seeing others live well and feel well.
